PDF Workbench
Every PDF move in one workspace. The final boss of PDF tools 🛠️
Load PDFs and images into one browser workspace to edit text, sign, merge, reorder, rotate, delete, extract, compress, password-protect, or convert text pages to Word.
How to use PDF Workbench
- Yeet in any mix of PDFs and images — they all become pages in one workspace 📄🖼️
- Tap the Edit button on any page to mask text, add new text, or drop in a signature. Full control.
- Drag to reorder, rotate, delete, or select pages. Select some and hit Extract to pull just those into their own PDF.
- Set a file name, toggle compression, add a password if you want, then Download PDF — or convert pages to Word. +1000 aura ✨
What this tool does
Matched text editing
Replace selectable text with an automatically matched size, color, and PDF-safe font. Core editing stays on your device.
Optional AI polish
Fix grammar, rewrite, or shorten selected text through Replit AI Integrations and OpenRouter’s free-model router. There is no paid fallback, so requests can fail when free capacity is unavailable.
Signatures & Overlays
Draw, type, or upload a signature and save it to your session for quick reuse. Drop new text anywhere.
One file, every tool
No more downloading from one PDF tool and re-uploading to the next. Edit → rotate → compress in a single flow.
Mix PDFs and images
Drop in PDFs and JPG/PNG/WebP images together — images become pages automatically. Merging is just... how it works.
Locked PDFs welcome
Got a password-protected PDF? Enter its password right in the workbench and keep it moving. 🔓
Common uses
- Combine PDFs and images, then reorder or rotate pages.
- Extract selected pages and create a new PDF.
- Compress, password-protect, or convert selected text pages to Word in one workflow.
Processing and privacy
Browser processing: Document loading, page editing, PDF generation, encryption, and Word conversion run locally in the browser.
Third-party AI processing: Optional AI text actions send only selected text through Replit AI Integrations to OpenRouter's free-model router, never the PDF or signature. There is no paid fallback, and free capacity can fail.
Limitations to know
- Large documents can exceed available device memory.
- Compression is structural and may produce little change for image-heavy PDFs.
- Word conversion does not OCR scans or preserve complex PDF layout exactly.
Keep original files where applicable, inspect the result, and do not rely on an automated output without checking that it fits your intended use.
Practical tips
- Select pages first to make Rotate, Delete, Extract, and Convert to Word target only those pages. No selection = everything.
- The single-purpose PDF tools are still around if you just need one quick job, be so fr.
Frequently asked questions
Are my files uploaded to a server?
Nope. PDF editing, merging, rotating, compressing, encrypting, and Word conversion happen in your browser. Optional AI actions send only selected text through Replit AI Integrations to OpenRouter’s free-model router—never the PDF or signature. There is no paid fallback.
Will replacement text look identical?
The editor matches the original size, sampled color, background, and closest PDF-safe Helvetica, Times, or Courier variant. Subset fonts and complex backgrounds can still differ slightly.
Can it convert scanned PDFs to Word?
Not yet — Word conversion extracts real text. Scans and image pages come through as PDF pages fine, but they won't produce Word text. 💀
What does Compress do?
Losslessly rebuilds the PDF with optimized object streams and strips metadata. Quality stays identical; savings depend on the file.
