What this tool does

Aspect ratio lock

Recalculates the other dimension when you edit width or height; unlocking permits stretching.

Social presets

Instant sizing for Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, and more. It's giving ready-to-post.

Browser-based

Canvas drawing and PNG export happen on the device; speed and maximum dimensions depend on browser memory.

Common uses

  • Resize an image to exact pixel dimensions.
  • Prepare an asset using a common social-media size.
  • Preserve an aspect ratio while scaling.

Processing and privacy

Browser processing: Image decoding, resizing, and export happen with browser APIs.

Limitations to know

  • Upscaling cannot recreate detail absent from the source.
  • Changing to a different aspect ratio without cropping can distort the image.
  • Browser export can alter metadata or encoding.

Keep original files where applicable, inspect the result, and do not rely on an automated output without checking that it fits your intended use.

Examples

Resize with the source ratio

Input: Open a 4000 × 3000 image, leave dimensions Locked, and set width to 800.

Output: Height recalculates to 600 and the download is named resized_800x600.png. The ratio math and Canvas path are covered by a deterministic check; verify the actual downloaded image properties in your browser.

Diagnose a stretched preset

Input: Apply the 1080 × 1080 square preset to a non-square photograph.

Output: The preset unlocks the ratio and stretches the full source into a square; it does not crop. Reset and use proportional dimensions if distortion is unacceptable.

Practical tips

  • If you actually need the file (in bytes) smaller, use the Image Compressor instead — resizing dimensions ≠ shrinking file size, be so fr.

Frequently asked questions

Does this crop my image?

It resizes the canvas. If the aspect ratio changes it'll squish rn, so keep aspect lock ON so your pic doesn't come out cooked. 💀
