How to prepare text for publishing
Measure length, clean inconsistent case and spacing, estimate reading time, and preserve a human review step.

Measure before trimming
Start by checking the limits that actually apply: words for an assignment, characters for a field, or approximate reading time for an article. Word Counter updates as text changes and also reports speaking-time and keyword-frequency estimates.
A high-frequency word is not automatically a problem. Names and topic terms may repeat naturally; use the list to notice patterns, then read the sentences in context.
Tools used in this section
- Word Counter — Measure words, characters, estimated reading and speaking time, and keyword density.
Normalize formatting without flattening meaning
Case conversion is useful for headings, labels, and developer identifiers. Apply it to a copy: automatic title case cannot know every brand style, proper noun, or intentional capitalization.
Whitespace cleanup can remove accidental repetition, but prose, poetry, code, and tabular text may rely on spacing. Review the output before replacing the source.
Tools used in this section
- Text Case Converter — Convert common writing and developer case styles and optionally clean spacing.
A short publishing pass
- Confirm the intended audience and length limit.
- Remove repetition that does not add meaning.
- Check headings and labels for consistent capitalization.
- Read the final text aloud to catch missing words and awkward transitions.
- Verify names, numbers, links, quotations, and claims against their sources.
