Check angle modes, precedence, and graph estimates
Use exact input checks for arithmetic and trigonometry, then distinguish a sampled graph from a numeric answer.

Try three checks with known outcomes
Enter 2+3*4 and calculate: expect 14. Enter (2+3)*4: expect 20. Powers group from the right, so 2^3^2 gives 512. Use * for multiplication, not implied 2pi.
Choose DEG and calculate sin(30): expect 0.5. Choose RAD and calculate sin(pi/2): expect 1. Changing angle mode clears the displayed result; calculate again. Percent means divide the previous value by 100: 200*10% gives 20, but 200+10% gives 200.1, not a percentage increase.

- Scientific Calculator — Enter and verify expressions locally, or plot one explicit function of x.
Know when not to trust a plotted point
Plot x^2 in Graph mode and inspect its shape near x=2; calculate 2^2 in Calculator mode to verify the numeric answer 4. A plotted pixel near y=4 is not an exact coordinate. Narrow spikes and steep changes can be missed by sampling.
sqrt(-1) reports a real-number domain error rather than a complex answer. Factorials accept whole inputs through 170. If an expression fails, check parentheses, explicit multiplication, angle mode, and the real-number domain. For consequential calculations, check rounding and use an independent precision method.
